With black friday/cyber monday passing.... and two new 4k systems out or coming out.... I keep seeing coli brehs getting fooled into buying these "4k, HDR" tvs....

As of today, these are the ONLY tv's on the market that are officially 4k and have HDR 10. If you don't see your tv/future tv on this list... don't even waste your money

To be listed, the television must support the HDR10 standard at the time of writing (not including "upcoming firmware updates"), must support 10-Bit color (as defined by Rtings, which includes native 10-bit panels without 8-bit banding and 8-bit panels with dithering to create 10-bit colors), and of course have a 4K panel. Input lag isn't really a decider, although if you're a competitive gamer, it should definitely be taken into consideration.

Peak / Sustained brightness has not been used to give or bar entry on to the list, but if there's demand for it, I can create a multiple tier system based on brightness and 10bit vs 8bit coloring. There is of course a difference in HDR quality based on brightness potential of the display.

EDIT: UPDATED LIST

rtings.com list... with true 4k AND true hdr10 displayed

I've been debating a pro for about 3 weeks now. Thank god I went on vacation.

During that time I decided to wait until I got back. Seen about 5 different threads worth of nikkas buying the wrong tvs, being duped, and then just sadly accepting the loss

I damn near spent 1k on a tv that wasn't even on this list. I'd have been pissed the fukk off

You doing God's work fam. I did my research for months to ensure that I got what I needed. I got the Samsung KS8500 as I found it was about the best priced to quality screen that had the least amount of latency for gaming that fit the full bill HDR 4K criteria.

I don't know what sizes those tvs are but you should also add to the op that a 4K tv less than 50" is not worth it either. You won't see the benefits of 4K with a smaller screen.
I agree, but I'd add a specific number for viewing distance, say 6 feet or less, and ideally a maximum between 4-5 feet, accounting for visual acuity. But if the choice is between a 40 inch 4k and and a 40 inch 1080p TV, at this point, it's better to opt for the 4k (better sharpness and color), unless you can somehow find a high-end 1080p TV.

At this point I'm indifferent, I went in looking for a 70in 1080p for a stack for a living room and I ended up getting the 70LGUH6350 for the same price. shyt still looks amazing to me

People out here spending money and being lied to. They should know what they're really getting.

It's crazy how this whole HDR craze kicked off around the time Microsoft put it on the Xbox One S.

sony x750d not real 4k??????????

cuz its uhd or what?
That's not a real 10 bit panel Sony uses some bullshyt to claim it is.

I got a JU7500 and it has something considered by many to be "Fake HDR" which came after a December 2015 update. It doesn't have a wide color gamut but it is still a fantastic TV.

It's a pretty solid TV. My TV is the same year but a JS9000. It's pretty much my TV with ant 8 bit panel instead of the 10 bit. Same low input lag performance.

Most 10 bit panels out are 8 bits dithered up to 10, nd the native 10 bits dither up to 12.

But the kicker is that the best TVs are only able to cover 70%-80% of the color gamut that HDR10 taps into (2020).

4k is a resolution standard

Hdr is a color enhancement feature.
