Worst case scenario with Derwin, Minkah, Roquan, and Edmunds gone but Gase gets his guy.

Baker Mayfield

Well, damn, Roquan and Tremaine are gone. Anything is possible at that point. I don't see us taking a QB in the 1st round, pretty sure the praise and meeting of Baker was just a smoke screen. We either go with an Earl Thomas type prospect and move T.J. to WLB or take a DT to fill the void of Suh leaving. Haven't heard any links between Miami and Lamar; but, they were really quiet about Charles Harris last year.
I'm going Denzel Ward. He has the speed (4.32) and the frame to fit the Earl Thomas type prospect I hope they go for. I hope he knows route recognition, can cover the slot and RBs, and can make open field tackles. Hell, we don't even need Earl Thomas, just give us Devin McCourty type production. :noah:

My Dolphins brethren have to be on top of this draft game a lil bit better. Denzel Ward is a corner bruh--a small one at that. We're pretty much set at CB with Howard, Tankersley, McCain, and Lippett unless Howard gets traded which I doubt. Could be a possible smokescreen but Gase usually doesn't discuss any prospects; whenever someone mentions Mayfield he lights up.

I don't think they're going to put too much emphasis on replacing Suh. We won't see a DT until the 3rd or later; Godcheaux was very productive and they still believe in Phillips. Its going to be a QB, either Edmunds or Derwin, and or draft down for the LB from Boise State(Vender Esch...?).

There are so many needs here that it's hard to choose, although Roquan or Tremaine would have been ideal.

Gonna go with Vita Vea to make up for Suh's loss. We need a lot of run defense up front to compensate for a suspect group of LBs.

Mayfield isn't the guy. Anyone with "maturity issues" will inevitably clash with Gase. That being said, I can't wait until Tannehill is gone.

Gase wont draft Jackson in the first call it a hunch....

I prefer Derwin James as we need safety help, but if Ward is there take him. You can never have too many DB's in this pass happy league....

Baker will not still be around at 11.....

I agree we are set at corner. That's why I said we draft him as a FS - we would be converting him to free safety. It's been done before with similar smaller fast corners (i.e. Devin McCourty).
I think Gase is just making smoke screens.

Phillips is so inconsistent though. One moment he's a dominant beast, the next he's getting pushed back 5 yards. Godcheaux is good. I hope he cuts down on the penalties.

Also, Derwin and Tremaine were both off the board in this mock draft. My post was with the previous picks in the mock in mind.

I just hope, someway, somehow, Josh Rosen falls for some reason. I have been hearing negative press about him lately. Probably nothing though.

We can only hope they make the right decision.

Baker Mayfield is not going to be a good NFL QB. I can say that with the same exact absoluteness as CACs use when talking about how Lamar Jackson needs to change positions :usure:

Could've had Foster or Njoku last year, but nope, they aren't good enough for the Dolphins. Charles Harris was.

And guess what ? LB and TE still a need lol

Saints took Marshon Lattimore 11th last year, lets see how Dolphins fukk it up this year, i say Baker Mayfield.
