Dodge rolled out its new Viper American Club Racer today in Detroit where every Viper is made by hand.
Tim Kuniskis, president and CEO of Dodge and SRT, said, “The Viper is the ultimate street-legal track car, and the ACR is the fastest ever.” This Viper certainly has the mechanical chops to stake that claim. New to the Viper ACR are carbon ceramic Matrix 15.4-inch front rotors with six-piston Brembo calipers as well as high performance Kumho Ecsta V720 tires (295/25/19 fronts and 355/30/19 rears). Also look for an adjustable dual-element carbon fiber rear wing, rear carbon fiber diffuser, removable hood louvers, and detachable front splitter. The changes to the ACR mean that it can sustain 1.5 g cornering at high speeds, among its big bag of track tricks.

It will be powered by Dodge’s 8.4-liter V-10 that creates 645 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque. (Dodge likes to note that this is the most torque of any naturally aspirated sports car in the world.) The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

Indeed, the monster of a machine that is the Viper has become an even bigger menace on the track. The new ACR’s extreme aero package creates 2,000 pounds of downforce at 177 mph. Go back and read that sentence again. It creates one ton of downforce for a car that weighs around 3,400 pounds.

Almost. A pure track car is bare bones on the inside. You remove useless interior trim, the radio, and carpeting.

It may surprise you but non-dealership owners buy the Viper.
For the rich French people in France, they love this car. It's a ballsy gas-guzzling ride to flaunt your cash and is cheaper compared to a Ferrari or Lamborghini.
