Power is in my hair nikka
#1 The Blueprint
- as perfect as a Jay album could ever get, truly rapped like the rapper he needed y'all to believe he was... so well that he made y'all re-write the past.
#2 American Gangster
- Period Piece, If Denzel was to pretend he was a drug kingpin who pretended to be Jay-Z...this is the album he would've made.
#3 Black Album
- wasn't the hottest album of the year...But, good enough promotion to make y'all think it was.
#4 Vol. 2
- Thank DMX and Ja for the assist, Hard Knock Life might be one of the most " trust me,this will work" ass hit singles ever.
#5 Reasonable Doubt
- revisionists classic, this shyt wasn't fire when it came out... Kind of like a movie BET showed every 8 hours for the last 25 years to make you think it was wildly popular.
#6 Blueprint 3
- Euro Hov....plus Autotune didn't die
#7 Kingdom Come
- Conscious Jay, trying to make old cool wasn't cool.... but the album cover was dope til you took it out the case
#8 In My Lifetime
- good locker room presence, has intangibles that cant be taught. first in the gym, last to leave.
#9 Vol 3.
- spawned the single that got Jay over in the South... got washed by Chad Butler.... very late 90's album. Left no indication that he could make The Blueprint.
#10 Magna Carta,Holy Grail
- attempt #2 at making being old cool, worked better cause there weren't any awful button ups.
#11 4:44
- Jay never tried harder to make us think an album was dope.... arguably most forgettable album he's ever done. Lasted less time than Jay saying "Not Guilty" after his verses.
#12 Blueprint 2
- Not even Excuse Me Miss could negate 03 Bonnie and Clyde
