He went from making garbage ass romantic comedies with Kate Hudson to making genuniely interesting, dark films with auteurs. Gotta salute him for switching it up.

His performance in Killer Joe was some wild ass shyt. Didn't think he had it in him.

Lots of people tend to forget where he came from because of the period where he did nothing but rom-coms, but dude was already showing he had that potential in A Time To Kill, Contact and Amistad. Looking back it's crazy to see how lazy he got there for a while.
