So I'm watching this kid play sound shapes on the vita for the first time and he is absolutely horrible at this shyt

Kid is about 12, at 12 I was finishing resident evil with CHRIS.

All this making games accessible to everyone is giving these kids a pass for being TRASH. I'm almost tempted to recommend ninja gaiden sigma to this kid so he can just get a TASTE of what it was like.

To be fair this might be his first time playing any console game, but fukk that. I played TMNT when I was FIVE.

Lowkey i fukking hate playing games with my lil cousins. nikkas can't even play Rayman games, but when I was their age I was beating the shyt out of everything Perfect Dark had to offer on the hardest difficulties, earning them gold stars at the shooting ranges and everything man.

these kids these days.. I was rocking heavy boots in the water temple at 9 years old! Nikkas had to READ playing ff and use their dexterity back then.

Yeah, this generation of people have grown soft in all areas. They want everything in a microwave minute and don't want to put any effort into getting it. This definitely includes video games, cuz they don't want to learn the game or earn their victories, they just want instant win satisfaction to be handed to them and it sucks. I go thru this playing games with my niece, always whining and quick to quit a game just cuz I don't let her win, yet she asks me to play knowing this. Catches an attitude and the whole 9 too, and I don't even gloat or anything over beating her cuz what point would there even be to doing so. Can't even understand or sit thru two minutes of tutorials of a game like Critter Crunch, but begging me to play with her. Shut up.

it's a combo of things:

- like mentioned by others, most are gaming on phones/tablets..
- these new games cost a lot to make, so companies want everyone to be able to play them...so they are making them easier....in some cases you cant die or the game will play itself for you....all which leads to lesser skills on the sticks...
- these kids care about more shyt than gaming...gaming was the shyt to us growing up, to them, it's not...

Nintendo is also one of the worst offenders with that "Die five times, here's a free power-up. Die another five times, become invincible." bullshyt they've been putting in their platformers. What happened to the time you just had to play a level over 50 times if it was necessary for you to hone your skills for the rest of the game?
