10/2/2014 update:
LEONARDO DICAPRIO TURNS DOWN STEVE JOBS BIOPIC ROLE

It's not the right job for him.

2 OCT 2014 BY CASSIDEE MOSER

Leonardo DiCaprio has turned down the role of Steve Jobs.

He was offered the role in a biopic centered on the life of the late Apple co-founder based on the book by Walter Isaacson, but turned it down. According to The Hollywood Reporter, DiCaprio plans on taking a "lengthy break from acting" after finishing The Revenant.

In the wake of DiCaprio's announcement, a number of other actors have been considered to play the role, including Christian Bale, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Bradley Cooper.

Danny Boyle is directing the biopic, which will be adapted by Aaron Sorkin and produced by Scott Rudin, Guymon Casady, and Mark Gordon.

Make sure to check out IGN's review of the film Jobs, another Steve Jobs-centered film starring Ashton Kutcher.

Sony Pictures is reportedly eying Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle (28 Days Later) to helm their Steve Jobs biopic, with Leonardo DiCaprio approached to star.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Boyle and DiCaprio are re-teaming for the film, based on the best-selling Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson. The duo previously worked together on 2000’s The Beach.

The film comes from a screenplay written by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network). Past Sorkin collaborator David Fincher was originally approached to direct, before backing out “due to his aggressive demands for compensation and control,” says THR. Fincher had reportedly wanted Christian Bale for the starring role.

Surrounding the life of the late Apple co-founder, the film marks the first time Sorkin has penned a script for Boyle and DiCaprio.

The Jobs film doesn’t yet have a release.

Apparently the first movie was a misstep and this one would seek to right that wrong. I don't understand the hate. You have a much talented writer, director, and leading actor taking on a pretty interesting story. Who gives a shyt if someone already attempted to do it? How does that hurt you?
