The Jurassic Powers first form in March 1993 when Hercules entered New Japan. The two spent the first few months in the midcard as they took part in six and eight man tag team matches. Eventually they began to climb the rankings and they defeated The Hellraisers on August 5, 1993 to win the IWGP Tag Team Championship.

After winning the titles, The Jurassic Powers would hold them for 5 months and make 3 successful title defenses against the Hellraisers, Hiroshi Hase and Keiji Mutoh, and The Nasty Boys as well as non-title victories over The Japanese Jollyjacks and Brutus Beefcake and Jake Roberts. The team also entered the 1993 Super Grade Tag League and would ultimately be the runner ups as they lost to Hase and Mutoh in the finals.

The team would finally lose the titles back the Hellraisers at Battlefield on January 4, 1994. After the title loss, the Jurassic Powers would make few appearances as a team, they eventually made their last appearance as a team in a losing effort against The Steiner Brothers on August 4, 1994, after the loss they split up as Hernandez left New Japan.

Much like brown people holding titles :mjpls:, I think dudes with muscles make certain types of wrestling fans feel very uneasy

That's why they broke Doom up, Doom started going over and being cheered and receiving Pop's over The Steiners, Flair and Anderson that they broke them up. Unapologetically Black Power House wrestlers who were Champions and heels that got over, Those CACs didn't like that

I forgot this was a thing. Damn New Japan have loved their white gaijin tag teams for the longest.

Japan was the best thing for tag team wrestlers from the State, we got to see their full potential...I seen matches from The Fantastics and Killer Bees, regular midcards in the states but In Japan I was shocked how dope of wrestlers they were

This is true. I didnt give two shyts about Terry Gordy as a freebird but tag him up with Dr. Death and you have my full attention. The dopeness that is Scott Norton is ENTIRELY because of New Japan knowing what to do with him.

I wish we got Ron Simmons and Butch Reed over there for a run. Their matches against the Steiners would have been godly
