yup
it's a shame she doesn't get the credit she deserves yet madonna has always gotten her props :mjpls:

jody's musical range is incredible :wow:

What i always found interesting about Madonna is that on her first 2 releases the label intentionally didn't put her face on the cover because they didnt want folks to know she was White because she was mainly getting spins in Black clubs and Black stations.

true
same thing happened with teena marie when she 1st came out
and in no way was i tryin' to diss madonna because i like some of her music, i just think it's wack jody don't get the props she deserves as a trailblazer in the game

keep in mind, jody started as a soul train dancer, then do the group thing with shalamar and then went off to solo and had major success as well

I fully agree with you, Jody transitioned into the Dance/Electronic world, but didn't get much attention outside off those circles. Because if we are gonna be honest, it was the Black/Soulful side of the Electronic Music scene, which just gets ignored.

I remember hearing them songs on mix shows, still top notch

exactly
those 2 songs were great too
when you really think about, jody watley's legacy really is underrated
her name should be mentioned right alongside janet jackson and madonna
