It's been 20 years since Tha Doggfather came out

This saturday actually marks the exact date it came out but I figured I'd get the anniversary part started early

Now, we all know this album wasn't received as well as Doggystyle was obviously but I think with time, this album has actually held up quite well on it's own merit and I like it better than anything else out there now easily

I can't believe it's been 20 years


I just found this clip commemorating the anniversary of this album, it features some clips of some songs I don't remember ever hearing before and some different versions

listened to it sometime last year, I think there's some filler, but if he cut down the tracklist to about 15 or so tracks, it would've been a stronger CD

Such a disappointment. Snoop started his talking flow instead of the smooth sing-songy flow he had prior. WTF happened to Daz who produced BANGERS on Dogg Food the year prior and on All Eyez On Me just a few months prior. They made DJ Pooh the main producer who was good as the supporting producer.

album couldve been tight af with a whole different tracklisting.
Also I'm still fukkin mad that Snoop didnt write "2001" & "Downtown Assassins" which were among the strongest tracks on here. Shows you that the time of the album with all the drama surrounding it had snoop completely off, which is also evident by the songs were he sounds so fukkin lifeless or fukks up his flow etc. etc.

could've been a lot better but Snoop was put in an impossible spot after Dre left and also coming off his trial...album had its share of bangers tho, Gold Rush, Downtown Assassins were 2 that come to mind
