A Coli article about the Present & Future Dangers of Viral Internet Journalism.

We were warned by the wisest men from every chapter in history that propaganda, unverified history & sources are paths to hell. From the first stroke of a pen that imparted "news" to the masses, a monster was being created & sheep were being bred.

Today, in memorium of a slaughtered sheep, King Karim. A sacrificial representative for the rest of us, clamoring for information as to the future of the NBA. It is funny, but his Coli-public beating, such an unrelenting & still ongoing( I just negged him 2 minutes ago) savage beating, should shed light on the future of journalism & where/how we, as the masses, receive our information.

Are we prepared for a future where instant gratification + the addiction to being a "breaking report" + the virality of the internet & social media creates an influx of information w/ little to no substance attacks your senses to the point that you will not be able to discern what is real or puffery?

Karim, his poor...poor, poor soul, was addicted to nothing more than...speculation. His mind became so thirsty for something, ANYTHING, that he became satisfied w/ news of "someone else's speculation". News has become so perverted that "new speculation" is viable fact.

Think on this... Knowing the Coli Wolves are always circling, knowing the hype that his thread may cause, knowing that a neg is a mouse click away... he felt good enough w/ pressing [Create Thread] and we saw the violence that ensued. (:damn:Shame on yall...........................:mjlol:)

Just imagine, the chaos that we will witness after the "media" have Lebron going to Cleveland at 95% & Cleveland buying into that hype....And Lebron James going somewhere else?:lupe: I hope it doesn't happen but... Be prepared brehs...don't say you weren't warned.

But seriously, we seen this happen way too many times in real journalism, where reporters looking like :krs: thinking they got a fresh scoop only to be deaded by a hoax.

True.

I was being funny, that's the way of the Coli, which is why I love it.

But I might really do a cleaned up Editorial for a newspaper(Ironic). People are laughing now because we are talking about SPorts news however, other facets of the Press are going to get the hint. With the plethora of Media outlets that exist now...in order to set one self apart, the temptation to hobble up a few facts and create a dramatic and gamechanging narrative via viral media... It's a VERY scary premise, especially considering the Media is already vastly untrustworthy.

We are going down a slippery slope...that we've already been falling down...:wow:

Further proof as to why sports "journalism" is a joke. Create your own rumor then have other people make that rumor into news by retweeting, etc. Then profit. Take credit for whatever portion of your rumor comes true and forget the rest. Think this shyt would fly in any other areas of legitimate reporting? "Putin reported to be considering seizing control of Ukraine, will post update on his website putin.com at 6PM PST!!!!!!!"
