I'm confused, why does nobody care about the citywide death and destruction in Godzilla or Xmen?

I mean damn people went hard a superman for this, but for some reason monsters and mutants destroying cities is somehow cool but for Kryptonians, not acceptable. In winter soldier airships the city of rhode island crashed down to earth like it was nothing, mad soldiers killed, cities destroyed during car chase. Nobody cares. but when superman has comic levels of destruction on film its bad.

Easily the most ridiculous complaint i've ever seen in my life about a film

Because Godzilla is a monster and doesn't give a fukk/doesn't know better and most of the cast of "Captain America" is humans. Captain America is the strongest character in that movie and even he can't do jack shyt against a helicarrier dropping out the sky.

Superman has the power to control exactly how much damage he does....he should know better....and yet he chose to punch people through buildings. So nah it's not the same thing man.

Superman's powers make him really boring. Contemplating on the meaning and ramifications of absolute power (ripped straight from watchmen) is the only way writers can make superman kind of interesting.

People didn't complain just because Superman leveled Metropolis.

What rubbed people the wrong way was that only a moments after - during a pivotal and emotional climax - Superman is torn apart when Zod threatens the lives of one family as if he didn't just have a hand in the deaths of several thousand people.

May I ask what are so "boring" about Superman's powers?

Sounding real bitter right now :russ: Godzilla is a force of nature who gives no fukks, not some lame in a cape. And what city wide destruction was in Xmen? The only thing i can think of was when Magneto dropped that stadium around the White House to block it off from the rest of the world; but Magneto's a supervillain.

You know writers fukked up when Superman's heroics are being compared to a giant monster and a super powered racist :wow:
