Meant to post this weeks ago. Figured it'd be a good discussion topic or at least I hope :russ: Not going to post the whole list but I will give the top 15

http://www.ign.com/lists/top-100-tv-shows

1. The Wire
2. The Sopranos
3. Twilight Zone
4. Breaking Bad
5. Star Trek
6. I Love Lucy
7. Mad Men
8. Lost
9. The Simpsons
10. Seinfeld
11. Game of Thrones
12. SNL
13. All In The Family
14. Arrested Development
15. Parks and Rec

What say the film room?

For me, I can't argue with anything on the list from 1-100. Glad to see Twilight Zone be as high as it is and Lucy as well since I think we tend to forget a lot of comedies from that era when they really were groundbreaking and just funny.

I'd put the simpsons higher and don't know if I'd have Lost that high but I also never got into the show so that's on me.

The Shield at 74 and Curb at 56 are way too low.

Too early to put Better Call Saul that high (54).

Band of Brothers and Chappelle's show would both be in my top 10-12.

The Sopranos and The Wire should switch places.

I think you could flip a coin on those two. Also West Wing is too low for my taste

Parks and Rec in the top 15 :obama:

I only watched up to the middle of season 2 so far and I love this show :russ:

Shocked Star Trek is rated higher than Game of Thrones :ohhh: I don't watch GoT but people seem to love that show, never thought a show from the 1960s would be ranked higher.

I agree with The Wire being number 1 though.

Star Trek is timeless breh. And it's influence, much like twilight zone, is serious, much more than Game of Thrones at this point. Star Trek influenced storytelling not just in Sci Fi but in comedy and drama as well and in movies. Plus its allegorical nature counts for a lot.

These lists become way to muddled when you don't separate shows into some sort of categories (genre, era, format, length, etc.). How do I really compare a 1hr episodic drama, to a 1/2 hour sitcom, to an anthology series, to a sketch comedy show, to a children's cartoon, to an anime? I feel like once you separate them into categories it makes finding the right criteria to compare that much easier.

I agree with the top 2, doe:ehh:
