Kanye is hacky, jiggy era/backpack hybrid buffoon who manages to still sound terrible even when raps are written for him. He's certainly cresting top 5 all time shameful black person lists (he's #1 IMO) and has been puffys successor in the snuffing out of quality rap music. Snake oil salesman of the highest order.

He's an absolute worthless piece of garbage.

Kanye actually has y'all convinced that he's a genre-blending genius who's pushing hip hop into the next frontier. :mjlol:

All this dude did was figure out ways (albeit some of them creative) to water down hip hop and sell it as "authentic hip hop" to the uninformed. Which is why Ye is so cosign-dependent.

I remember when the cac hype for MBTDF started. Ye sampled King Crimson for "Power." Cacs went berzerk.

"He's taking rap to a new frontier! Prog rap! No other rapper has ever been as creative as Kanye. He's going hard and taking no prisoners, Becky!" Blah blah bullshyt.

MEANWHILE

Mobb Deep and them have been sampling progressive rock since before most of you even started listening to hip hop. Among other genres.

Here's the difference: When Mobb Deep do it, they make it HIP HOP.

When Kanye samples King Crimson, he tries to recreate the feel of King Crimson with a dash of badly-ghostwritten rap, sing-a-long Katy Perry-isms, pancake-flat drums (shots to Big Mel) and tries to sell it off as hip hop.

Compare the sound of this:

and

to

this pop rock, cac-wannabe weak shyt

Notice how the Mobb Deep shyts are much rawer, have way better drums, zero cheese, stronger attitude, sharper rhymes and a funkier spirit. That's hip hop.

You can't be mad that your average hip hop head doesn't give a fukk about Kanye like that. His stuff is just not raw enough and most of it's not even structured like a hip hop record. If you love that stuff, cool. But don't pretend like a hip hop head who doesn't fukk with Kanye doesn't know hip hop. It's the most ridiculous shyt ever.

And that's as real as it gets.

I know some of y'all are gonna hate this. I'm trying to win WOAT. So neg me, cacs and c00ns!

what's that got to do with the topic

You talk all this soundscape gibberish to mask the fact that Kanye changed the course of Hip hop.

It isn't 2007 anymore... That first John Legend album was soulful and so was Commons Be

His sound birthed John Legend, Jamie Foxx and broke Estelle in the U.S.

Kanye innovates and experiments ...this dude literally killed off ghetto superthug rap with stadium rap.

I love Mobb but they aint seeing pre-2008 Kanye.

Nvm 808s which birthed this current class of rappers or MBDTF

What careers did Prodigy launch ?

Who are Mobb Deeps successors ?

What successful current rappers are off shoots of Mobb Deep ?
Who cares? That's go nothing to do with who's better, but there's a bunch f similar artists to Mobb Deep out there.

Yall gon be mad but kanye only has 1 good album. MBDTF. I tried listening to College Dropout again and it's stale. Kanye has always been completely overrated, I respect Ye for pushing the boundaries and bein creative with his music, but most of it is :scusthov:

just a bunch of hipsters who wanna dress like him keep him alive.

Kanye change the genre... dresscode and soundscape

For better for worse .... It doesn't detract from Mobb Deep or what they did in their prime though
Kanye is a versatile artist who experiments.... some choose to stay in their lane

For n!ggaz that don't want embrace change...what's so cac about these ?

If Kanye didn't experiment he'd still be making sh!t like this

He even made music for the Mobb too

I won't even get into the RNB side of things
