I better not see you nikkas jumping on Andrew Wiggins bandwagon next year when he's averaging 27/6/4

Andrew Wiggins looks determined to have a HUGE season: Andrew Wiggins: I'm worth 'nothing less' than max
During Wiggins’s first three seasons, Minnesota won 16, 29 and 31 games, respectively, and he’s been passed over for All-Star consideration despite his gaudy scoring numbers and durability. Even though cracking the West’s All-Star team has gotten more difficult thanks to the East-to-West migrations of Butler, Paul George and Paul Millsap, Wiggins has nevertheless set his sights on earning a trip to Los Angeles in February.

“[Being an All-Star] is definitely is a goal,” he said. “[To make it happen], we need to win first off, play good, and make my team better. Just rebound the ball more, that’d be the most important thing [to prove to voters].”

I guess someone finally told Andrew Wiggins that the ignorant masses and media that vote for all-stars don't actually watch the games or understand it if they are watching so if you want to get some respect from these idiots you need to placate them and fill the stat sheet in the rebounding and assists column. The guy is already a really good offensive rebounder. If he's now concentrating on actually getting defensive rebounds rather than just floating around the perimeter on defense so he can leak out for fast breaks, he should easily average 6 RPG next year. Contrary to the idiots who never watch the games, Wiggins is actually a good rebounder. Also with no more Rubio around to miss open looks after getting a pass from Wiggins, he should be able to record 1-2 more assists per game passing to Jeff Teague.

I just hope the box score fools around here don't start stanning him next year when he gets his rebound/assist numbers up. Stay consistent with your ignorance. If you've been arguing with me for the last 2 years that Wiggins can't do these things, then don't switch it up when he finally does it because he realizes you idiots don't watch the games but only track players using stats.

For the record, my only concern with Wiggins has always been MENTALITY. I've never questioned his TALENT. In terms of talent I believe he's right there with the likes of Kobe, T-Mac, and Jordan as the most talented perimeter player of all-time. The only thing keeping him from all-time great status has been his mentality. He's always been passive and constantly looks like he doesn't care. I loved the quote in this article because it finally proves he might actually care. He wants to be an all-star and he's realized the idiots that doubt him doubt him for stupid reasons like rebounding numbers. Something that is easily correctable.

I'm also probably the only guy on this site who would still take Andrew Wiggins over every other young player in the NBA. The rest of ya'll are all up on the Giannis, Towns, or Embiid bandwagons. If Wiggins is focused this year on getting his numbers up, he will get it done. His problem has always been passiveness. I'm glad he's finally gonna try and prove the doubters wrong rather than just ignoring them. Wiggins will explode STATISTICALLY next year. The move to the SG position will allow him to take the league over. No more being at a size disadvantage every game. Now he'll be the one with the size advantage every game.

By the end of the 2017-18 season, Andrew Wiggins will be talked about as the best young player in the NBA.

Yeah I doubt it when he got Teague dribbling around for 15 seconds, Towns at the key, Butler on the wing. Jimmy Butler will be doing the bulk of the scoring. Wiggins can still get his if he's aggressive next season.

That's called a prediction. Just cause a guy wins MVP don't make him the better player. I thought ya'll had figured this out by now?

Giannis has everything set up for him to win MVP next year. He's the only focal point of the team. He'll have the chance to put up huge numbers. He's in a weaker conference. I predict the Bucks will win 50+ games and possibly get the #1 or #2 seed in the East.

All those factors will come together to get him the MVP. However, that doesn't necessarily make him better than Wiggins. Unless Giannis becomes better in the half-court against a set defense, I'll continue to favor Wiggins over him both now and long-term.

Is there a bigger scrub in the NBA than Andrew Wiggins?

But no one else but you can cheer for him next year.

Read that post again. I questioned Wiggins hunger and drive to be great. I've NEVER questioned his talent.

And obviously that post was hyperbolic. I was pissed off that day. I believe that was after a game late in the season where Wiggins scored in the single digits while Rubio and Towns went off for 30 points each. I couldn't believe that Wiggins was content to just sit back and let other guys just dominate the ball playing third fiddle to Rubio and Towns. It simply SHOCKED me.

This quote yesterday to Sports Illustrated gives me hope that the guy actually has some hunger and drive to be great. I'm happy he wants to be an all-star. I feared with Butler coming to the team that he would be content to become even more passive.
