In light of the racist in this country able to kill us without recourse there have been a lot of talk about actions to correct the problem and ultimately uplift the community at the same time. If you have seen some of my posts you know I am on the "get the hell out of this racist dump" brigade but I know its not feasible for most people. I came across the video and wanted to share and get thoughts.
Cliff notes for people with ADD:
1. Money in the black community only stays in the community for 6 hours vs weeks for other communities
2. Money staying inside of the community enriches the community and decreases crime and increases wealth
3. Before integration black businesses thrived but in some cases whites went to destroy these establishments.
4. After integration black businesses made a sharp decline
5. The "non racist white people" might understand and sympathize with prejudice that is in your face but will never understand economic oppression.
I think marching, protesting, and pushing for laws to be changed is fine but if we don't support our own communities then we can't expect others to care either. it is also easier for these things to be effective when you have real power behind it.
