The first rule is to BE SPECIFIC!
I've heard that he could push for legislation that:
1. makes cops wear body cameras
2. removes leave with pay
3. pushes stiff punishments for those who violate egregious abuses of law enforcement
I've heard that "Obama hasn't said or done anything about black rights"
And I personally think thats bullshyt.
Theres a concept in political science called the "utility heuristic" and even further the "BLACK UTILITY HEURISTIC" that basically asserts that black politicians pursue things that benefit not just minorities, but everyone at large, but things that indirectly benefit minorities without explicitly targeting them.
Citing the aforementioned, he has spoken out on MANY things that affect the black community and drawn attention to many aspects of acts of violence against the innocent. We've had legislation that is trying to curtail existing drug sentences, we've had health care and financial reform that helps minorities. We've had social programs like the "eat healthy" and "my brothers keeper" organization.
Some of you will say its not a lot...but I really ask you: what president has ever truly done much for the guy on main street? How much do presidential actions affect your day-to-day?
Obama can't be Al Sharpton 24/7. He's got the world to run.
