If your child/sister/brother has a social networking profile and say they lied online about their age, things they do or did something you didn't approve of, would you go this route? Have you dealt with a cousin, sister, brother, or your child lying/ catfishing online/portraying they are older?

I have a cousin who is 18 now but she used to lie about her age on facebook when she was 14 and say she was 23. To be fair she looks way older than her age so that's what made it worse. Her mom had a facebook too but I think she created her mom's profile and her mom doesn't understand how to the whole internet thing.

I remember this girl here (Louise Dela Rosa):

All her schoolmates put her on blast for lying about her age when she was 13 and claiming she was 20 like a few years back. She's about 17 or 18 now?

Above is her cousin speaking on it back in 2012.

Two different questions. lol I would never shame my future children publicly or go out of my way to shame them in front of their friends. I would be concerned if my child was portraying themselves as something they aren't or lying about their age on the internet though. That's very dangerous. I don't think any possible future kids I have will be doing things like that, I would have already explained the dangers of the internet before they ever had access to it. You can't completely control kids but there should be a certain level of monitoring with guidance to prevent them from doing anything stupid. But I don't currently have kids so... :yeshrug:

Them Lo Lifes...
Goes back to supervision and instilling value and self respect in your kid.

If you did that as a parent, they will act accordingly online.

With that said...

Yep...Im fronting their ass off.....

You can be as strict as can be, it won't stop them.
Yeah, that's true. I honestly won't give a fukk as long as they are mature for their age and are doing well in school. Lay down the platform, can't completely control how children choose to build on it but you can hope your guidance has a positive effect. I'm sure raising children when you actually care is hard as hell. It's like an everlasting puzzle game with no reset or undo option. :dead:

So if your 13 yr old daughter is doing well in school, you'll let her post sexually suggestive posts and photos online?

I don't have any of my family on social media just to avoid online drama and having to censor myself, if I do happen to catch any family that's close to me doing stupid shyt then I might call em out irl, but other than that, it's on them :yeshrug:

Edit: Thankfully i've never dealt with this, nor have I heard anything like this happening, my family's pretty gossipy so i'd know

If he/she is smarter than the average person at his/her age and more wise, I won't have a problem with it. Education and stability are the only things that really matter in this life, imo. If have that you can do w/e you want in moderation. But going off of how my dad/mom acts and I how act and how everyone in my big family acts, I don't think it will be an issue at all. No way of knowing for sure though.
