Samsung is made up of different subsidiaries. Speaking of Samsung mobile in particular they've estimated a 5.3 billion hit due to the note 7 fiasco. Pretty significant for the quarter.

For real... this is a good thing Samsung hasn't had a competitor in the Android space for so long that they have a tendency to get complacent and fall back on throwing in a ton of useless "features" and copying Apple. They start getting focused when they losing money (except on the Note series where they always put in effort )

I want to swap my phone out but everything's a downgrade, LG phones got bugs, and I got all these wireless chargers and no other phone but Samsung works with it.

It's more of a public image hit than financial. I think they'll be fine though. They've had too long of a track record of straight quality to have any major setback.
