no they arent....not even close

they are actually disprespectful to what our ancestors endured.....

photographer is a clown

liken actual slaves to cats making millions to play sports OF THEIR OWN FREE WILL brehs....

The point of his work is to show that black exploitation did'nt end with slavery, but continued with sharecropping, lynching, and redlining, and still continues with the NFL, NBA, and police brutality. The goal is to show that these chapters arent closed historical episodes, but instead as experiences on a continuum, shifting with time and always under constant, bodily negotiation.:manny:

You cant compare a people that had no freedoms with ones that do.

I respect my ancestors and all that they endured and sacrificed for me but I'm not going to turn a blind eye and act like slavery still doesn't exist in other forms.
wish he would have had photos addressing prison. sending people to jail for not violent crimes or "3 strikes" is really the real slavery especially when those same prisons are made to work for little to nothing.

I get the point of comparing organized sports to slavery, but considering the money they're making and lifestyle they're living its definitely an imperfect comparison. Slavery never paid so well nor looked so good. Most working Black people would gladly trade incomes with their oppressed athletic brethren.
