The point of his work is to show that black exploitation did'nt end with slavery, but continued with sharecropping, lynching, and redlining, and still continues with the NFL, NBA, and police brutality. The goal is to show that these chapters arent closed historical episodes, but instead as experiences on a continuum, shifting with time and always under constant, bodily negotiation.
You cant compare a people that had no freedoms with ones that do.
wish he would have had photos addressing prison. sending people to jail for not violent crimes or "3 strikes" is really the real slavery especially when those same prisons are made to work for little to nothing.I respect my ancestors and all that they endured and sacrificed for me but I'm not going to turn a blind eye and act like slavery still doesn't exist in other forms.
