Gimp or Photoshop?

Which one do you use for making smileys/gifs/manipulations? What do you like about it? How good are you or what else you need to know about using your favoirte program?

i use photoshop cs2 for smilies and imageready for gifs. i tried gimp but i just dont know my way around it enough

I like illustrator more than Photoshop

I use PS Cs5 for smilies, and Illustrator for my personal designs.

I use paint.net for stills and Photoshop CC for gifs

Not sure why I don't use CC for both but I've been using paint.net for years and that's what I'm comfortable using

Photoshop CS5 for "complex" things and Gimp for quick and easy stuff.
Both are interchangeable for most things but IMO, the more you're into advanced things, the more you tend to go towards Toshop because it has way more versatility.

I'm new to this shyt, and I legally paid for cs6
Now is my cs more bling than all of yours or is there something negative I need to know about it?

Before photoshop, I'd use various websites I'd find via google.
Please school me pplz.

Then I upload all my creations via tinypic.. gives me the least hassle, doesn't want to know all my business just to upload a pic

Photoshop > Gimp IMO...

Could never get used to Gimp's layout. Both are good programs though...
