Never really cared about my health until 2010. In 2013, I became somewhat of a hypochondriac but now that I'm more clear headed, I rarely even fukk with doctors anymore. Bout to change that slightly because I'm 30 feeling like I'm at least 50. Bout to drop some shyt on these nyggas and weigh my options.

I know so many people in my family who suffered because they just don't know anything about how to get better. Cancer is regular in my family, and it seems everyone is diabetic or has hypertension. Wondering if this is mostly a black/latino thing. Though certain populations of whites get sick at high rates too. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford the best doctors or have access to outreach programs.

Still, I wonder if people have fear of hearing something bad so they go to doctors for surface shyt or don't go at all. A lot of people are afraid of meds/treatments too. I mean you can always get a second opinion, or do more research, but at least know your options. Sometimes the pros of meds/treatment greatly outweigh the cons. At the same time, knowing is only the beginning, not wanting to change your lifestyle just keeps you sick, doctors can't force you to live healthy.

How are ya'll with doctors and health? What does "health" mean to you? How do you approach close family members/friends who don't care abut their health?
