So I wanted to start this in The Root but they need to clean that section up and TLR will get more eyeballs But I think this blurb presents an interesting topic, in regard to Black Lives Matter, and a valid critique. If White Supremacy and anti-Blackness are global then shouldn't Black Lives Matter be connecting with Black movements instead of being in Palestine The growing solidarity between #BlackLivesMatter and Palestinian activists Instead of holding talks with Hilary Clinton, why not criticize her role in Haiti, Honduras, and Libya Role of Hillary Clinton’s brother in Haiti gold mine raises eyebrows
You have Ethiopians in Israel and Afro-Brazilians in Bahia using the Black Lives Matter slogan http://www.thecoli.com/threads/ethi...rusalem-inspired-by-baltimore-protest.315235/ but have any of these American "activist" attempted to connect? Dubois, Malcolm, MLK, etc made trips around the diaspora If your logic is that we should only focus on our country because thats a lot in itself then wouldn't America setting up military bases across Africa be something we Black Americans collectively call out like police brutality AFRICOM: America's Empire of Military Bases in Africa | Black Agenda Report
Cacs do a great job making their tragedies in Paris and Sandy Hook go global so does Black Lives Matter not have the responsibility to use its access to media to bring awareness when a bombing happens at the hands of Boko Haram and Al-Shabaab? You have social justice warriors romanticizing Italy and France, especially Black women who think Europeans love them, not realizing the high volume of African women and children sold into slavery as prostitutes in Europe Trafficking in Women from Nigeria to Europe
I know we have a fairly diverse group of Black folk on here, so do my Black breh and brehettes agree with this criticism. If not, why? If so, what are solution to create a more globalized Black movement that does not rely on Black Lives Matter?
