The year 3030

DJ Clark Kent spoke openly about getting his start in the hip-hop world, as he admitted that his first turntable came after he looted a store during the infamous blackout of 1977 in NYC. It was after this time that Kent started building up his name around the city and establishing himself as a known DJ. He also began a career as a tour DJ for the likes of Dana Dane, Biggie, and Jay Z to name a few. It was the latter which he spoke about at length during this clip.

Kent explained that he saw Jay Z's star power after their first meeting , and he revealed that the Brooklyn rapper had the sharp with that Kent knew would help him succeed in the rap world. Clark Kent added that he believed in Jay Z so much that he featured him on every remix he put out.

Check out the rest of the interview to hear what Clark Kent had to say, including how he started remixing records and getting into the production part of the industry.
