Capcom trademarks Onimusha in Japan

Plus, additional trademarks from Kadokawa, Sega, and Konami.

A new set of trademarks from Japanese video game publishers have hit the internet.

The most notable of the trademarks is a registration for “Onimusha” from Capcom. The latest console release in the series was Onimusha: Dawn of Dreamsin 2006. A browser game called Onimusha Soul was released in 2012. It was ported to PlayStation 3 in 2014.

Other trademarks include “Novel 0” from Kadokawa Games, “Nurikeshi” from Sega Games, and “Duel Links” from Konami Digital Entertainment. “Novel 0” sounds like it could be an entry in Kadokawa’s mystery game series.

I hope its a complete remake with Samanosuke. Its too early to tell at this point but I hope it isn't just an HD version of Dawn of Dreams, unless they use it as a reintroduction to the series for an all new game to re-launch the series.

Resident Evil 2, Onimusha 1, 2 and 3 are the last Capcom games in that vein that I truly fukking loved until 4 came out with the behind the back camera. A current gen Onimusha would clean up, I'd like to think, but the landscape has changed from when those games came out.

I don't think Dawn of Dreams was bad, it just wasn't as good as the original 3 which had kind of that resident evil survival horror vibe except all you had was a sword. Dawn of Dreams took it to that Dragon Ball Z super powers jumping around stuff, which was cool, but too much of a change from what the original trilogy established. I hope they come back to slower pace fights. That's one thing I liked a lot about Bloodborne. Those fast stylistic games like Bayonetta and Devil May Cry are cool, but I was really missing those games with deliberate and slower movements.

I played one of the PS2 Onimusha's to death but I don't remember which one. All I know is after pulling off the quadruple one hit counter kills, you go to sleep satisfied like a mother f u c k e r. I also remember giving out magic mushrooms to the other characters and dying at their responses.

Reboot but no remasters please. Flabcom got so much titles they can reboot.

I'm still waiting for The Legend Of Dragoon reboot. Whoever makes that is getting my money even if I don't ever play the game.
