I know there's a screenwriting thread somewhere on here but I couldn't find it. Basically I have an interest in Screenwriting, I have had ideas for TV shows, movies, short films etc. but always placed it on the back burner because I thought it would be too difficult to get it going. Now i'm like fukk it, it's now or never so with that being said can anyone help me get started?

Don't you write @MartyMcFly?

Yeah man. I started in word which is fine but it can be a pain in the ass when it comes to formatting the script properly. It just becomes something you have to keep doing. So what I did eventually and what you should do if you can, is cop final draft. It puts everything in the format you need, and you can give it directions. For instance, it knows the format for dialogue, characters, and scene descriptions. So it's a good look to let the program handle that while you handle the creative side. Final draft costs tho and I don't know your money situation but if it's too much, Celtx is a free program that's fine too but I prefer final draft.

There are also plenty of screenwriting tools around the web that can show you stuff if you're stuck like how to handle voice overs, telephone conversations, flashbacks, etc

Do you want formatting info or more how-to info?

I'm working on screenwriting (actually doing to certificate through UCLA) so I can give you some book recommendations if you let us know what you want.
