Cal Of Duty: Black Ops 3 Gets PS4 Theme and Advanced Warfare Content as Digital Pre-Order Bonuses
Yesteday several retailers made Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 available on in its physical release, but today digital pre-orders have become available on the PSN, on the Xbox One store and on Steam.
Interestingly, this is the first time that a game on Xbox One is made available before pre-loads are up. For the occasion Microsoft created a “Pre-Order Edition” of the title.
The goodies now available include the standard edition, the digital deluxe edition and the season pass, that includes four unannounced DLC. The Season Pass, that costs a whopping $49.99, isn’t available on its own for Xbox One yet.
Interestingly, pre-ordering in those stores offers further bonuses. All platforms get the Black Ops III Personalization Pack for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. It includes a custom weapon camo, three reticles, a calling card, and an emblem item. You can see them in the picture below.

On top of that, those who pre-order on the PSN will get a custom PS4 theme as soon as they check out.

Black Ops 3 Setting Leaked, Definitely From The Future, Exo Suits Return
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has leaked, revealing the full look of the mysterious soldier silhouette that was teased in the announcement trailer earlier today.
His gear and outfit are quite clearly from a time beyond ours; you can even make out a more sleek-looking exo-skeleton –though perhaps more robotic in nature — that surrounds the outer layer of his arms and likely his back and legs as well. The giveaway is the outer plating attached to the rotary motor devices at his elbows.

If anything, the material suggests that the game will primarily take place in the future and will feature advanced soldier movement and strength similar to what Sledgehammer Games introduced in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
A game description discovered by Twitter user @ThaTiemsz on the official Call of Duty website also confirms that Black Ops 3 will once again be made up of three primary game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies. It also explains that the setting will take place in a “twisted future where a new breed of Black Ops soldiers emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead, in a world where cutting-edge military robotics define warfare.”
“Call of Duty®: Black Ops 3 is the first title for next-gen hardware in the critically acclaimed Black Ops series. Developed by Treyarch, the award-winning creator of the two most played games in Call of Duty® history. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 deploys players into a dark, twisted future where a new breed of Black Ops soldiers emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead, in a world where cutting-edge military robotics define warfare. With three unique game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies, it providing fans with the deepest and most ambitious Call of Duty ever.”
Call of Duty: Black Ops’ setting spanned the Vietnam War with a flashback or two set in the World War 2 era. Meanwhile, Black Ops 2’s campaign primarily took place in the year 2025 with flashbacks to the original Black Ops’ timeline. This year, it appears that Treyarch is pushing the boundaries even further with a setting that takes place during the peak of our technological evolution.

Update
Call of Duty’s Snapchat has updated their page with a new teaser video. The mysterious voice says, “Listen only to the sound of my voice.” You can watch it here.
As some users have been pointing out, the light shining through the trees creates three distinct white lines, perhaps suggesting “Black Ops III” is what’s being teased here.
Original Story
A potential viral marketing campaign for Treyarch’s upcoming Call of Duty 2015 title has allegedly been discovered inside a recently updated build of the studio’s previous title, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
Call of Duty YouTube personality Drift0r spotted the possible hint in a video he recorded earlier today. On a select number of in-game billboards installed on various multiplayer maps, users will find a Snapchat code that leads to the message, “callofduty is already your friend!” Have a look in the featured video above and the image below, again, courtesy of Drift0r.

Here’s our own confirmation that the QR code actually exists on the Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Earlier this year, it was confirmed that Treyarch would lead production on Call of Duty 2015, marking the first time the studio has been allotted three years of development time. Historically, it’s expected that an official tease or reveal will take place in early May, which is what this alleged marketing campaign could possibly be leading us towards.
Either way, it’s certainly a clever move to get fans hyped for this year’s Call of Duty, presumed by many to be a continuation of Treyarch’s Black Ops series, while tempting eager clue finders to revisit the studio’s previous title. As always, stay tuned for updates.
