the area was all black when i first came to austin in 07. now the hipsters dominate that area. i think someone is trying to make a message about it. the only predominately black area in austin has been 70% wiped out by hipsters from california that are moving here by the droves.

I've been to Austin a few times. Never had any problems.. but I'd only say I've been there like a week total. Nowhere near long enough to discern the cities racial leanings.
It was okay from what I remember.

Austin from the times I been there was a predominately Black city, with pretty liberal whites sprinkled in there too, this seems to be some sort of cryptic message being sent, but instead of maybe going over some peoples heads, it ends up being in bad taste.
