The South Bronx thread had me thinking about this. I remember they were heavy in NY back in the day but I get the feeling not so much nowadays. I don't agree with a lot of their stuff but their influence on hip hop culture is obviously undeniable.

A lot of them are incarcerated or around the way old heads who have no patience for today's youth.
