I'd say it was better than Freakshow. Roanoke was the first season since I'd say Coven where the story took precedent over the fukkery. So if you like story over generally fukkery, you'd probably like Roanoke better. It was a little slow in the beginning but picked up pretty quickly for me.

Most AHS fans I know tell me this, it picks up, and when it does, it does and no slowing down. Guess I gotta have patience, I like the AHS anthology series as a whole, and hate that I am missing one.
