I don't think any show makes fun of them worst. Hank Hill embodies the uptight square white guy who want everything to be done the correct way. Dales is the crazy neighbor who smokes cigarette all day.

It makes sense. When they did the snipe hunt boomhauer told the park ranger the entire truth. As loyal as boomhauer was, that was always wierd to me. So being a ranger makes sense from that point.
