She's been downhill ever since she started messing with swizz beats.
He hardly "rescued" her with that song. The album that it's from was platinum before that song was released as a single. Add to the fact that she was fresh off of a #1 with Jay Z with "Empire State of Mind". Since "Unthinkable", she's had "Girl On Fire", which was bigger.
Still "Unthinkable" is one of her best records, but there were a couple of better songs on Element of Freedom than "Unthinkable".
"We Are Here" is contrived. It's simply trying too hard to be an anthem. What's hurting Alicia is the reaching. She's admittedly written songs out of her range. Then she attempted to remix the National Anthem. Now she's doing this.

Its crazy...when i first heard Alicia Keys, i thought she was gonna be top 5 all time.
True story she was sitting on a shelf with a record deal way before her first hit. She is talented but not real creative.
