MTV’s "The Challenge" Taps The Best Of The Worst For Season 30

Over the course of 29 seasons, MTV's The Challenge has pitted men vs. women, heroes vs. villains, and family vs. family — but for Season 30, the most influential reality show in history is getting down and dirty by bringing back the most ruthless players ever, to compete against each other.
Beginning July 18, Aneesa, Johnny "Bananas," Cara Maria, Camila, Cory, CT, Darrell, Derrick, Jemmye, and Veronica will be just a few of the brutes trying to win $1 million on The Challenge XXX: Dirty 30.

MTV The Challenge season 30 gets million-dollar prize
MTV is bringing together the dirtiest, most unpredictable players in the game for the 30th season of The Challenge… and they’re making the cash prize bigger than ever before. One million dollars big, to be precise.

Last season’s prize was $350,000, so we can only imagine how much more grueling this round will be.

The Challenge XXX: Dirty 30, set in South America, will premiere Tuesday, July 18, and it’ll be “the highest intensity competition to date,” according to the network.

BMX biker T.J. Lavin will be back to host as 30 favorite challengers from across The Real World, Road Rules, and Are You the One?battle (and probably hook up with one another) for the show’s most significant prize pot to date.

The cast will be stacked with 30 favorites from across the series, including several players making their returns after prolonged breaks from the game. Derrick Kosinski, originally from Road Rules: X-Treme (2004), last appeared on season 20 in 2010, and Veronica Portillo, originally from Road Rules: Semester at Sea (1999) is back after an eight-year hiatus (though she did appear in the current Challenge special pitting Champs against athletes like Lolo Jones and Gus Kenworthy).

And, of course, the usual cast of characters will be there: Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio, Cara Maria Sorbello, Camila Nakagawa, and reigning champs Chris “CT” Tamburello and Ashley Mitchell.
