The 18-year-old suspect who allegedly stabbed his family to death with a hatchet in their Oklahoma home has given police a full confession saying he carried out the murders.

Robert Bever was apparently 'very forthcoming' during his confession but showed 'no remorse' for the bloodthirsty massacre.

Instead, he told police that the murders were 'just the beginning' of a string of killings planned outside of the family, Tulsa 8 reports.

Bever (pictured center in a red T-shirt) with five of his six siblings in a family photo thought to have been taken last year. He is accused of killing two of his brothers (far left and right) and his younger sister (front). His 13-year-old sister (second left) and two-year-old sister (sitting on Bever's knee) survived

Officials aren't sure if a list of possible victims exist or what the extent of Bever's plans were.

A motive for the killing has not yet been released.

Bever and his 16-year-old brother, were arrested in connection with the deaths of their parents - David, 52, and April, 44 - and three siblings - a girl aged seven and two boys aged five and 12.

The two adults and three children were found dead at 11.30pm on Wednesday in their luxury house in Broken Arrow, southeast of Tulsa.

Another daughter, aged 13, was severely injured in the attack and called 911 - but she was unable to talk. Police responded to the call and found her in the house. She is currently in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Her two-year-old sister was discovered unharmed and is in state custody. She was allegedly born prematurely and her parents had recently started a non-profit to help other families who have premature children.

The family's house (pictured) was one of the biggest and most expensive homes on the block

Police called the slaughter the 'worst criminal event' in the community's history.

Broken Arrow police Cpl. Leon Calhoun said when officers arrived, they heard moans from inside the house and forced their way in.

He described the scene as 'gruesome'.

They pulled the 13-year-old girl out of the house and also dragged two more victims to the lawn because it wasn't immediately clear whether they were dead or if the attacker was still inside.

During a search of the property, officers found knives, blades and a hatchet.

Sgt Thomas Cooper of the Broken Arrow Police Department said on Thursday: 'It appears that the two suspects fled out the door sometime during our arrival.'

He added: 'The crime scene has taken a pretty heavy toll on officers who have come out here. It hits close to home, especially when the victims are adults and juveniles. Our officers have a lot to take in.'
